About me

Hi, I'm Gemma.

I've spent the past 20 years working as a clinical occupational therapist for the NHS, but have always recognised the benefits of holistic therapies. Wildroots Therapy reflects my ethos and values as a reflexologist where I can support my clients with both a pragmatic, clinical view coupled with the understanding and knowledge that seeking alternative therapies can provide.

I am also a member of the British Reflexology Association and a qualified Occupational Therapist with the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (BHSc (Hons) OT).

My story

My Story

I first discovered reflexology while dealing with a challenging digestive condition that lasted for two years. Despite receiving medical treatment under GP and consultant care, I felt something was missing. I wanted to explore a more natural way to support my body – something that aligned with my personal approach to health and wellbeing.

Through my own research, I found reflexology; from my very first session I felt grounded, refreshed, and deeply relaxed and as I continued treatments, I noticed a significant improvement in my symptoms. Reflexology helped to calm my flare-ups, ease discomfort, and support my overall recovery in a way that traditional medicine alone had not.

This experience quickly led to a personal interest and ultimately to undertaking training as a reflexologist, combining my nearly two decades of NHS clinical occupational therapy experience with holistic therapy, to offer people an alternative way to support their health. I’ve seen first-hand how a holistic approach can help maintain, restore, and aid recovery beyond conventional western medical practices, and I am delighted to be able to share this with you.
